Drying Laundry in the Air forms part of my long-term artistic research programme Everyday Image Systems. It investigates how ordinary domestic gestures generate temporary architectures of colour, light, and social relationships.

Laundry drying between buildings is:

  • spatial
  • bodily
  • environmental
  • domestic
  • dependent on air movement
  • dependent on architecture
  • a temporary spatial configuration
  • something that changes through time
  • something people read through movement and positioning
  • part of my photographic/archive practice
  • connected to my computational work
